What are Nangs in Australia?

The word ‘nangs‘ is Australian slang that refers to cream chargers which are cylinders containing nitrous oxide (N2O) gas.

Nangs or cream chargers are primarily used for whipped cream but are also designed for use in other food and drink preparations such as a foaming agent in sauces and mousses or a flavor infusing agent for alcohol for cocktails and other fancy alcoholic drinks.

Nitrous oxide is also used for medical anesthesia, it is common for dentists to use nitrous oxide when performing dental procedures.

Nitrous oxide can also be misused for recreational recreational purposes. Subjects obtain a ‘high’ from inhaling the nitrous oxide gas.
